Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based curriculum that was first created in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. At CFS we have made a few adaptations to the curriculum: we do not provide a one day silent retreat, we have slightly shorter class times, and we have slightly lightened the home practice work load. Due to making these adaptations while adhering to the curriculum otherwise, we say the group is Informed by MBSR.
