Catholic Family Service (CFS) has been officially awarded a four-year accreditation through the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA).
This designation from a respected third party indicates that CFS meets accepted standards for good governance, management and excellence in service provision. CCA is an independent non-profit organization offering accreditation specifically tailored to community-based health and social services across Canada.
CFS was reviewed under the CCA Organizational Standards and Family Counselling and Groups Standards and was commended for its achievement of not only Mandatory Standards, but also all Leading Practice Standards.
“A CCA accreditation demonstrates to our clients, funders, donors and stakeholders that we are operating responsibly and providing quality services to the Calgary community,” said Patricia Jones, CEO.
“I am extremely proud of our staff who worked very hard to meet or exceed the accreditation standards over a period of many months of intense review. Once again, their hard work has paid off.”
CCA’s accreditation is founded on recognized best practices in governance, leadership and management, and in program areas including child and youth services, community-based primary health care, community mental health and addictions, community support, and family services. Catholic Family Service was previously accredited by CCA for the period from March 31, 2015 to March 30, 2019.
“One of the key benefits of participating in the accreditation process is that it promotes a leadership culture at CFS,” Patricia said. “To us, a leadership culture is an environment where all employees, not only those in titled positions, have an unshaken belief in the vision of the organization and a deep commitment to achieving our ambition.
“We will continue to embrace the importance of community accountability, quality improvement and the implementation of evidence-informed best practices.”
